News / girls skirts
Creating the Spring/Summer Brave Line was amazing! There was so much to learn about growing my tiny biz, and luckily there weren't many bumps in the road.
Sadly, it's time to end summer and move toward Fall -- the absolute BEST season in Chicago. Lucky for you this means I need to move all of my summer items. And what's the best way to do that?
By having a huge sale!! Who can resist a big discount? Not this girl :).
Take advantage of the low prices while your daughter's size is still available.
The best part is that many of the styles can be worn into Fall! How great is that? Add some tights, hip boots, and a cozy cardigan to make the dress or skirt last longer.
Welcome to the new Mimi and Mack website! I'm so excited you found my business!
For the past couple of years, I have been working hard designing and creating tiny batches of children's clothing. All of this has been sewn by me, and at times it has become a little overwhelming -- designing, shopping for fabric, tweaking patterns, redesigning for a better fit, cutting and sewing, photographing, marketing, selling, invoicing, and shipping. Whew, and add all that on top of taking care of my wild children, husband, and dog. Once I realized it had been far too long since visiting the dentist or having a proper haircut, I knew something had to give.
So I decided to try this a little differently ;).
After spending weeks researching exactly how to grow in a smart way, I've found a few fabulous sewing manufacturers right here in Chicago who are teaming with me to sew my new BRAVE Line. I made the commitment to keep my business local, and I feel so lucky to have found such great people. These ladies and gentlemen have so much more sewing experience than I do, so their quality is amazing (and of course I will look over every item with a fine-toothed comb prior to shipping). Everything else is exactly the same -- I am designing, using the same gorgeous fabrics, marketing, selling and shipping.
The quantities will still be very small and can only be purchased through my web site for now, so chances are your little one will be the only one at preschool in her funky Mimi and Mack skirt. If your store is REALLY interested in carrying some Mimi and Mack, then shoot me an e-mail -- it would be fun to think about this for the future.
Right now I'm in the middle of sorting through a pile of my first pieces, and I'll post more about that as soon as possible!
